It doesn't mind repeating a thousand tricks you propose ad nauseam, it has quite a reputation for being a "clown". The Pug has always served as a jester in European courts, and well-trained it is capable of making you smile... among the aristocracy, famous examples include those of the Marquise de Pompadour, or Marie Antoinette, it is said that Josephine Bonaparte also owned a Pug, and what about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, great lovers of the Pug breed who brought these friendly dogs back into fashion in England.

The pug is not usually very vocal, compared to dogs of its size, which tend to be noisier. It is not a guard dog. It is very affectionate, almost cloying we could say, sometimes it has even been called a "shadow" because it never leaves its owner's side, which is why the Pug suffers from separation anxiety when you are away from home. Try to correct this before six months of age because although it is not incorrigible, it will be much harder to train it after that age.

This small dog has a muscular and compact body, with a square shape. Small head and flat nose, short and strong limbs. With an average weight of between 6 and 8kg, they are usually very gluttonous, so you should take care of their diet to prevent them from becoming overweight; they would die for a biscuit or any treat.

As for care, the Pug doesn't require much dedication, as its coat is very easy to care for. Its hair is fine, soft, and smooth; occasional brushing and a monthly bath will keep it looking beautiful.

Pugs love being with children because they enjoy being paid attention to and being the center of attention. The combination of a Pug and children is always a good one.

Since they are very domestic, define their space well from a young age and get a bed for pugs, and they will be a happy dog.
