Pinscher

This dog is just like the Doberman, but smaller, which is why it's called a Miniature Pinscher or Min Pin. Originally from Germany, it was bred to hunt rats and mice. It was first exported to the United States in 1919, where it was the first breed registered with the American Kennel Club in 1925.

Pinscher in German means "biter"; it is actually a very affectionate, and even playful, dog with its owners, though it's far from cowardly.

A good guardian of the home, it proves to be patient and docile with the children in the house. Perhaps due to its size, it is more suitable for house living than the Doberman. However, it still requires frequent exercise. Weekly brushing is recommended. The short-haired, smooth-coated Pinscher represents a very old breed. Most of them are black with tan markings, solid colors in shades of brown, or even reddish colors, or simply a bluish-gray that is almost black.

The Pinscher's appearance is challenging, elegant, proud... perhaps haughty is its best definition, with a square build and medium size. It is strong and well-muscled, which is evident during movement due to its short, smooth coat.

Pinscher

Key characteristics of the Pinscher include its strong temperament, vivacity, and self-confidence. Its mental balance and intelligent prudence combined with perseverance also make it an excellent family, guard, and companion dog.

The Miniature Pinscher is an intelligent and quick learner of any trick; it is easily trainable. Its great gift is its desire to please its owner and family. Its ability to be the center of attention will lead it to perform antics indefinitely for any audience; it has a charming sense of humor.
