Schnauzer

They are friendly, affectionate, get along very well with children and other animals, and integrate perfectly into family life. Schnauzers are always alert; they are natural guardians, which can lead them to be good barkers, so they will require proper training from an early age. Additionally, they are considerably more intelligent than the average guard dog. This mental acuity, coupled with their strong independence, means that high doses of patience and consistency are needed in their training from puppyhood.

Physically, their long, thick eyebrows and bushy beards are very characteristic. When caring for their textured coat, the back of the body is usually trimmed, leaving the hair on the legs long. Special care must be taken with their beard, as it easily gets dirty when eating or drinking; also with their general coat, which needs to be brushed, bathed, and trimmed frequently. Sometimes, the stripping technique is used to remove dead hair from the root. Their life expectancy is around 14 years for miniature and standard sizes.

The origin of the Schnauzer breed

This German breed dates back to the 15th century and was originally created for hunting rodents. In fact, its German name directly refers to its characteristic muzzle and bushy whiskers. Initially, they were responsible for guarding and protecting stables, but due to their astonishing skill in hunting mice in barns, they became popularly known as "ratter dogs." Over time, their miniature and standard varieties moved from the fields to the most distinguished homes in the world.

Accessories and care for your Schnauzer

The Schnauzer, especially the miniature and standard varieties, has a compact physique and an elegant temperament that requires accessories to match. At tQel, we design and select premium, high-end accessories that prioritize their comfort and enhance their distinguished bearing. Explore our catalog and give your faithful guardian the well-being they deserve.

Natural cosmetics for their beard and coat

Since Schnauzers require frequent baths and their iconic beard tends to accumulate dirt or moisture daily, the care of their skin and coat is paramount.

In our online store, you'll find a line of organic and natural cosmetics ideal for the breed. Our shampoos and conditioners, free of harsh chemicals, deep clean, hydrate their harsh coat, and prevent skin irritations, keeping their eyebrows and beards silky, shiny, and completely hygienic.

High-resistance handmade collars

As active, strong dogs always ready for action, they need walking accessories that guarantee absolute safety without damaging their coat.

Our tQel vegan leather collars and leashes are handcrafted in Spain by expert artisans. They feature rounded edges that protect the hair on their neck from chafing and breakage, and are equipped with high-resistance brass hardware to offer you optimal and elegant control on every outing.

Clothing and coats for Miniature Schnauzers

Although their fur is coarse, when they undergo the typical breed cut or stripping technique, their back is very exposed to the cold, wind, and humidity of winter.

To prevent them from catching a chill on autumn mornings, we recommend exploring our collection of clothing for Schnauzers and Miniature Schnauzers. From elegant merino wool sweaters to soft cotton hoodies that adapt to their athletic bodies, ensuring your pet is the most stylish in the park.

Lightweight raincoats against the rain

Keeping a Schnauzer's body and paws dry on rainy days is vital to prevent annoying mats and the classic damp smell in their dense coat.

Our raincoats and waterproofs for small and medium-sized dogs are lightweight, completely water-resistant, and easy to adjust. Their ergonomic design protects key areas of their anatomy and allows the leash to be attached to the collar or harness with total comfort, ensuring they return home clean and dry.

Premium beds for perfect rest

For your companion to feel completely comfortable after a day of protecting their family, they need their own space that provides calm.

Our rest range includes removable bed covers with raised edges to support their head, and ergonomic bean bags made with high-quality hypoallergenic fillings. These beds insulate from the cold floor and relieve joint pressure, offering an ideal peaceful refuge. Discover all the accessories for your Schnauzer at tQel!
